Joseph Chee, bass-baritone

American Bass-Baritone Joseph Chee was born and raised in California. He studied with Rick Christman on a full scholarship at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, where he sang many roles, including Olin Blitch in Susannah, Marcello in La bohème, the title role in The Boor, Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni, and Le Duc in Roméo et Juliette.

Joseph has sung with Bel Cantanti Opera, and covered roles with the Aspen Opera Theater and the American Opera Project. He has received prizes from the Partners For the Arts Competiton, the Sue Goetz Ross Competition, and the Shirley Raab Winston competition. In addition to his work as a soloist, Joseph sang with the chorus of Washington National Opera beginning in 2016, and with Maryland Lyric Opera since 2014.

Der Bassbariton Joseph Chee stammt aus den USA. Er wurde in Kalifornien geboren und ist dort aufgewachsen. Mit einem Vollstipendium hat er an der Katholischen Universität von Amerika in Washington, D.C., mit Tenor Rick Christman studiert. An der Universität sang er ein breites Spektrum an Partien, darunter Olin Blitch in Susannah, Marcello in La bohème, die Titelpartie in The Boor, Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni und Le Duc in Roméo et Juliette.
Joseph sang bei der Bel Cantanti Opera, und war eine Zweitebesetzung bei der Aspen Opera Theater und dem American Opera Project. Er gewann Preise bei den Wettbewerben Partners for the Arts, Sue Goetz Ross und Shirley Rabb Winston. Zusätzlich zu seiner Arbeit als Solist singt Joseph seit 2015 beim Washington National Opera und seit 2013 beim Maryland Lyric Opera als Chorsänger.
